COLISA : COLlection of Ichtyological SAmples :

Salle 1

The collection of ichthyological samples results from the merging of historical and recent samples, collected by several units of the ORE DiaPFC (Observatoire de Recherche en Environnement -Poissons Diadromes dans les Fleuves Côtiers) sites, in partnership with the OFB (Office Français pour la Biodiversité) as part of the OFB-INRAE-"migrateurs" Pole; and SOERE OLA (Système d'Observation et d'Expérimentation sur le long terme pour la recherche en Environnement - Observatoire des LAcs alpins).

The interest of this collection lies in the nature of the samples (more than forty species of fish and lampreys), its importance both in terms of quantity and geographical origin (the whole of France), but also in its historical perspective (since the 1970s).
From a scientific point of view, the collection contributes to the current and retrospective characterisation of individuals or populations of fish, from the point of view of life history traits, changes in the genetic diversity of these populations and changes in the environmental conditions in which they evolve.

From a final point of view, it participates in the definition of protection and management operations for these exploited populations (definition of quotas, opening periods for fishing, etc.), some of which are protected (included on the IUCN red list) or considered to be heritage species.
